Happy Valentines Day you lovely lot, thank you so much for all your support on my blogging journey so far, I love you all! 🙂
I wanted to stick to a love and Valentines theme and what better way to do that than with lips? I have a huge lip product obsession and this just a fraction of what I own. Some of these beauties are the final contenders of the lipstick off to find my favourite Valentines lips! I know this is a selfie heavy post and please ignore that half way through taking pictures I clip my hair back, I am growing my fringe out and I hate the awkward ‘curtains’ I have at the moment haha.
MUA Lipstick Shade 7
I really like the colour of this MUA lipstick as it really stands out against my pale skin. The pinkish colour is pretty bright and I think it’s a great lipstick for a night out. As I have started to branch out with the colours that I wear I have started to wear things that are a lot bolder and draw attention to my lips and I definitely think this does the job. It goes on really easy and takes a while to fade which is not bad at all, especially for £1!
Rimmel Colour Sensation – 547 Pleasure Me Red
I don’t really wear red lipstick that often, I buy tonnes of them but I think I am too scared to brave wearing it in public unless I have already had a little bit to drink haha. I think as I am really pale the Rimmel Colour Sensation is a great stand out lipstick and I actually love the way it looks on me. This dark red is a great find as it’s easy to apply and it last forever. Hopefully I can start to brave wearing it out more often!
Makeup Revolution Vamp Shade – Rebel With Cause
I have already mentioned this lipstick a few times on my blog, so its probably a clear sign that I like it. I am not sure it’s Valentines day material but I still absolutely love this dark purpley shade. It is probably one of favourites but I don’t get to wear it very often as I don’t think it is appropriate for work, but it is definitely one of my go to lipsticks for when I go out. Once again this is another easy to apply lipstick but I do find I have to reapply quite a bit. This doesn’t really bother me much as the whole Amazing Lipstick range are available for only £1 each from Makeup Revolution.
Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker – Charm Offensive
I don’t really wear lip glosses too often but I will always make an exception for Soap and Glory’s Sexy Mother Pucker. I have been using these lip gloss plumpers for as long as I can possibly remember and I absolutely love them (especially the name!). Not only do I love this dark pink shade but I love the lip plumping element. ‘Plump’ lips are definitely a trend right now and Sexy Mother Pucker is definitely one step closer to that Kylie Jenner look everybody is trying to recreate.
MAC – Snob
Who doesn’t love a MAC lipstick? Snob is one of my favourites and I think it is a perfect Valentines shade. I wear this lipstick most days for work as I think the light pink shade is quite subtle. As always MAC lipsticks are super amazing to apply and I hardly ever have to reapply. I know I love budget lipsticks but I am also a strong believer that MAC lipsticks are worth the price tag and next on my MAC lipstick wishlist is Velvet Teddy!
Boots Seventeen Lip Lustre – Red
I know I said I don’t wear Lip Gloss very often but I decided to give this one a go for the first time today and it wasn’t too bad. It was actually part of a set of 7 other Lip Glosses that I got for Christmas off my cousin and I just haven’t had the chance to use them yet. It looks like a lot darker shade of red in the bottle than it is on my lips, but that may be because I hate gloss I have quite a thin coat of it on. Although it looked good I am not sure if it is something I will wear regularly.
Makeup Revolution Lipstick – Enchanted
I can’t get enough of this shade of lipstick, I still can’t believe it was only £1! I know it is a very bright shade of pink but I think it is another one that is really good for stand out lips on pale skin. Like I said before I have recently been trying out shades I wouldn’t have ever braved before and this is without I doubt one of my new favourites. It’s easy to apply and does need a lot of topping up, but I really don’t mind for the price I paid.
MUA Power Pout – Crazy in Love
I am still on the hunt for my favourite lip crayon but this one from MUA is pretty damn good. I wanted a berry shade similar to the Maybelline Colour Drama ‘Berry Much’ however it’s not as dark as I wanted it to be. The shade is still really nice though, it is a decent wear and doesn’t come off easily but I do find that I have to apply quite a lot to get a full and dramatic effect. For only £3 I am very tempted to try the others in the range, what do you think?
So, can I get a drum roll please…..
The votes have been counted and verified and their are two winners of the ‘Lipstick Wars’ as I was really torn between the two. The first is MAC Snob as I think it is such a versatile lipstick that looks great for any occasion. The light pink colour is perfect for Valentines Day and I think it is such an amazing addition to any girls handbag. The next winner is the Rimmel Colour Sensation lipstick, even though I am not sure how likely it is I would brave wearing it out. I love the dramatic effect it creates and everyone knows red lips are incredibly sexy, perfect for Valentines Day!
Which shades were your favourites? And what are you wearing on your lips today? I hope you all have an amazing Valentines Day! 🙂
